Zelda Breath of the Wild 2: This could be a BIG week for BoTW 2 fans

Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games on the horizon, but it’s been awhile since fans have had an update. The last time Nintendo Switch fans got major news from Ninty on BoTW 2 was back when the next Zelda game was initially announced. Breath of the Wild 2 was the surprise announcement at the end of the Nintendo Direct held during E3 last year.

During that Nintendo Direct broadcast a reveal trailer for Breath of the Wild 2 was shown which featured Link and Zelda exploring a Hyrule worse for wear.

It had been hoped that another Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 trailer would have debuted during The Game Awards 2019.

However, TGA 2019 came and went without any new information on Zelda Breath of the Wild 2.

It remains to be seen when Nintendo could reveal more on BoTW 2, but a likely place seems to be an upcoming Direct broadcast.

And the good news for Ninty fans is the next Nintendo Direct is rumoured to be taking place this week.

According to an alleged leak the first Nintendo Direct since last September could be happening in the coming days.

This information comes courtesy of a leaker who claimed the next Nintendo Direct is happening in the second week of March.

What is interesting about this leak is that the author also correctly predicted when the Animal Crossing Direct was happening.

And they also correctly said when the Animal Crossing Direct would get announced which could lend credence to their other claims.

If a Nintendo Direct is happening this week then Ninty fans could get an idea about when Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is coming out.

It’s possible that the House of Mario may use the next Nintendo Direct to give fans an update on BoTW 2.

However, even if Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 doesn’t feature in the next Nintendo Direct they may get an idea of when BoTW 2 will be out.

This is because Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 had previously been rumoured as being the big holiday release for the Switch in 2020.

More recent claims, however, have said Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is taking longer to make than originally anticipated and that it will be out in 2021.

If that’s the case then Metroid Prime 4, Mario Kart 9, Pikmin 4 or a new Paper Mario game could reportedly replace BoTW 2 in the release schedule.

So, if any of these games get announced as a holiday 2020 release in the next Nintendo Direct then it could be a sign BoTW 2 isn’t coming out till 2021.

Here’s what the alleged leak about Nintendo’s Direct plans said: “I know 9 times out of 10 this s**** fake but all I can do is offer you my word that my source is legit.

“An old HS classmate has work involved with Nintendo – don’t want to divulge much more than that, but their level of internal knowledge is significant.

“I was in their city for work over the weekend and we caught up over some beers on Saturday night.

“What I’ve been told is that an Animal Crossing Direct will be announced tomorrow morning and will take place Thursday.

“It’ll delve more into how shops come to the island, it’s somewhat similar to New Leaf’s system, but deeper and gives more room for the player to personalise their island.

“A general Direct will come in the second week of March.

“Metroid Prime 4 will be in it which is no surprise really, but they’ll also finally showcase Pikmin 4, to come out during the holiday this year.

“There were others mentioned but those two stuck out as they got me particularly excited.

“Again, take this as you will, but what he was telling me seemed legit and he most certainly is in a position to know this stuff.”
