PS Plus January 2020 free games: When is PlayStation Plus next PS4 reveal?
The end of December is in sight and as you might suspect, PS4 owners are naturally turning their attention towards PS Plus January and what we hope will be a fantastic start to 2020.
In 2019 PlayStation gave away some cracking free games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, The Last of Us Remastered, Overcooked, WipEout Omega Collection and Batman: Arkham Knight.
That's barely scratching the surface of the wider pool of free games, but it's fantastic all the same.
Likewise, this doesn't take into account all the extra's PS Plus gives away for some of the consoles free games like Dauntless , PES 2019, Warface, Brawlhalla, Fortnite and Apex Legends.
Sony PlayStation fans will no doubt be hoping that the start of 2020 brings some more fantastic freebies.
However, for the sake of anyone who wants to know, or those who might have only recently signed up for a PlayStation Plus subscription, or bought a PS4, here's some info to guide you on the next PS Plus games for January 2020.
When is PS Plus January 2020 Free Games Revealed?
Most fans might know, but given how many people buy a PS4 every day, it's worth spelling it out for anyone new to the console ecosystem.
Traditionally PS Plus games have always been announced on the last Wednesday of the month, with the games becoming available on the first Tuesday of the month.
This means players will have to wait until Wednesday, 25th December before they discover what games Sony will be gifting subscribers.
If you want to set yourself an alarm so Siri, Google or Alexa can remind you, the PS Plus lineup is normally announced at 4.30pm BST on the day.
The only downside in all this is that because of the way the dates have fallen you'll have to wait sometime for your new free PS4 games.
PS4 owners will have to wait until January 7th for the games to eventually go live.
What is PlayStation Plus?
PlayStation Plus (commonly referred to as PS Plus or PS+) is Sony's PlayStation subscription service, primarily used to access online gaming on your PS4.
However, there are plenty more benefits on top, including two free PS4 games every month, exclusive PlayStation Store discounts, and 100GB of cloud storage for game saves.
How much does PlayStation Plus cost?
You can join PS Plus on a one, three or 12-month recurring payment plan, with costs ranging from as little as £6.99 for one month, up to £49.99 for the yearly option.
Choose a 12 month PS Plus membership and, by paying annually, you'll save 40% compared to paying monthly, and 37% compared to the three-month membership plan.
Can I try PlayStation Plus before I subscribe?
Yes! If you have never been a member of PlayStation Plus before, you can try it free for 14 days.

PS Plus January 2020 Predictions
Keep moving. You won't find any predictions here because they so rarely make sense.
We'll hold our hands up because, granted, Sony gave away The Last of Us Remastered in October to coincide with the release date announcement of The Last of Us Part 2.
But for the most part, Sony PS Plus pretty much never coincides with any sort of event, release or time of year.
For instance, last year for the December 2018 free PS Plus games we saw Onrush and SOMA given away for free.
To our knowledge, there was nothing to suggest either of them would be free that month, and there are no specific reasons they should have been free that given month.
Likewise, PlayStation Plus subscribers could also download Steredenn and Steins;Gate on PS3, alongside Iconoclasts on PS Vita.
So yeh, it's pretty random and so whilst we could give you some predictions for January 2020 like other sites or even the PS Plus Reddit page, we won't because it seems fairly pointless.
PS Plus December 2019 – Don't Forget…
Like every month, you've got two free games you can download right now and they're a cracking pair you certainly don't want to overlook.
As usual, don't hang about, they're not available for too much longer.
From a personal perspective, Titanfall 2 is one of the best shooters of the decade, and I think everyone should play it. The campaign is only about 10 hours long, and the multiplayer is from the same team behind the currently popular Apex Legends – so you know it's going to be good.
Here's the site's summary of the game:
"In single player, Titanfall 2 delivers a crafted experience that explores the unique bond between man and machine. Playable offline, the single player campaign in Titanfall 2 lets fans step out onto The Frontier as a Militia rifleman with aspirations of becoming an elite Pilot.
"Stranded behind enemy lines and facing overwhelming odds, players must team up with a veteran Titan to uphold a mission they were never meant to carry out. In multiplayer, Respawn is continuing to evolve their gameplay to provide a more robust experience that delivers expanded depth and variety that includes six new Titans, deeper Pilot abilities, more customization options, and a robust progression system that is sure to satisfy fans."
Monster Energy Supercross
Whilst it's not as notable a title as Titanfall 2, there's still plenty to be said of Monster Energy Supercross. It's a serviceable racer that will certainly give motor sport fans a couple of hours of entertainment.
Here's the site's summary of the game:
"Race with the official riders from 250SX and 450SX on the official tracks, Daytona included, to experience one of the most spectacular and entertaining racing competition ever!
"Customize your rider and bike as you like, with countless possibilities, with more than 80 official brands and 300 items available, and challenge yourself in conquering the top of the leaderboard.
"Race alone or against players from all over the world thought different offline and online game modes! Feel the rush of adrenaline, enter the arena and be the King of Supercross!"
