New Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game confirmed by Australian punk band
There’s mounting evidence that not only is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 6 happening but that it’ll be out sometime this year.
Now that Call Of Duty: Warzone is finally out it means the almost daily leaks of information about it will finally stop. But it already seems to be the turn of a different Activision game to leak its guts all over the Internet, as someone else accidentally reveals they’re involved in a new Tony Hawk’s game.
This time it’s Australian punk band The Death Set who proudly announced on Facebook that they had ‘licensed five new songs to Tony Hawk 2020 game’ and that fans would be ‘hearing this sh*t soon’.
Australian punk bands probably aren’t near the top of the list when it comes to reliable secret-keepers but they’re hardly the first to let slip the game exists, after pro skater Lizzie Armanto revealed her involvement and serial Internet leaker Sabi mentioned that Activision are interested in a new game or remake.
There seems little doubt The Death Set are telling the truth, as the Facebook post was quickly taken down (which doesn’t seem very punk) but was saved by Twitter user TheNathanNS.
Whether the game in question will be called Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 6 or not remains to be seen, especially as it’s possible it’s not actually a brand-new game but some kind of quasi-remake.
Re-licensing all the music from the original two games has proven near impossible in the past and it could be The Death Set are merely replacing some of the original tracks and that Lizzie Armanto is a stand-in for one of the original skaters.
Since Activision so rarely announce new games there’s no predictable pattern for how they might go about unveiling a new Tony Hawk’s, so the official reveal could literally happen at any time.
