N0tail banned on Twitch for using a homophobic slur
The special winter holidays streams took a wild turn for the double TI champion Johan “N0tail” Sundstein. His Twitch channel got banned late last night after streaming a session of pub games alongside Wehsing “SingSing” Yuen and Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski.
N0tail has joined the two Dota 2 streamers for the past couple of days and was warned by SingSing not to use the F word on stream as it brings an instant ban on Twitch. However, a day later, at the beginning of a new match, Notail expressed his frustration for losing the previous game by saying that he should have played one of his heroes, but described it with a sexual slur. The unfortunate word choice was clipped by one of his followers and can be watched here.
According to the Twitch community guidelines any sort of speech that “promotes, encourages, or facilitates discrimination, objectification, harassment, or violence based on gender, gender identity and sexual orientation” is forbidden. N0tail’s ban was announced late in the night of 26th December on Twitter.
Most likely the ban will stay in place for the remainder of this year. OG and N0tail have not joined the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit action, in fact, the back to back TI champions are yet to play an official game after TI9. Fans are expecting OG to return from their prolonged vacation in February 2020 when the third round of Major and Minor qualifiers are set to begin.
