Hideo Kojima is in Cyberpunk 2077, with a bonus Akira homage

CD Projekt have congratulated Hideo Kojima on the release of Death Stranding on PC and released a picture of him in Cyberpunk 2077.

We already knew that The Witcher developer CD Projekt were fans of Hideo Kojima, as he paid the studio a visit last year – although whether for work or pleasure was never made clear.

It now seems there may have been a spot of photogrammetry involved, as CD Projekt has just posted the following image on their Twitter account, congratulating Kojima for the release of Death Stranding on PC.

As an extra bonus, the bike involved looks very similar to the one from Akira, the famous Japanese manga and anime that has had a huge influence on the concept of cyberpunk.

Considering how often Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed now, you’d also imagine that CD Projekt wouldn’t be wasting time making random pictures if it wasn’t for something that was actually going to be in the game.

Kojima is well known for giving cameos to his friends, with Death Stranding featuring, amongst others, Geoff Keighley, Conan O’Brien, and Edgar Wright.

The biggest celebrity cameo in Cyberpunk 2007 is, of course, Keanu Reeves who plays a major role in the game as pivotal character Johnny Silverhand.

Assuming it isn’t delayed again, Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on 19 November, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

There will be Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 specific versions, but not until next year.
