Call of Duty Modern Warfare update: PS4 and Xbox Warzone patch news coming soon?
Activision has promised that a big Call of Duty Modern Warfare update is launching this week on PS4, Xbox One and PC. This would include new content for both Call of Duty Warzone and the other MW multiplayer modes. This was expected to launch on Tuesday this week but was delayed at the last minute.
No new details were shared on why this happened, only that the new COD patch needed to be pushed back.
The latest information from developers Infinity Ward explains: “Tonight’s scheduled title update is being delayed and is set to release in the coming days.
“This update includes our new Operator, Talon, new free modes, and our next free multiplayer map, Khandor Hideout. Please stay tuned for more details and updates on release timing.”
So when will this new Call of Duty Modern Warfare update be launched and how much longer will fans have to wait for an announcement?
Based on how other patches have been released for Call of Duty games, the next possible launch date would be Friday, March 27, 2020.
This would give Infinity Ward plenty of time to get the new patch ready and would provide the team access to whatever timings they hoped for.

The update was supposed to launch at 11pm PT on March 24, and if the same timing is used for later this week, it could mean the next COD download going live on Saturday in the UK.
The bad news is that Activision has yet to reveal its plans, meaning there is no guarantee when the new patch will drop.
Meanwhile, Activision could choose to push back the new COD update until next week, perhaps around Tuesday, March 31.
Fans are still hopeful for a launch being announced in the coming hours. Bringing with it a new map to Modern Warfare and weapons on Warzone.
As mentioned above, Modern Warfare owners will get access to the new Khandor Hideout map, which supports 6v6 play and has long sight lines and interior spaces.
“The large centrally located warehouse is a hub of activity and haven for CQB players,” the message from Activision adds.
“Hunt down your enemies and be wary of marksmen firing down lanes in Khandor Hideout. This new map is available tomorrow, so ready up to jump in and play.”
New cosmetic items will also be released this week for MW gamers, including the new Coalition operator, Talon.
Talon has his own unique finisher, a dog named Indiana and is part of a bundle that also includes two Legendary weapon blueprints and two-tier skips.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty Warzone gamers are getting access to four new weapons as part of the March 24 update.
This includes the 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14, which will be available to find across the Verdansk map.
These new weapons will be found in Common and Uncommon rarities, but won’t be joined by Playlist changes, meaning Solo mode will be sticking around for a while longer.
